BRIAN DAY as the son of famous seven time Academy Award winning Motion Picture Art Director, Richard Walstead Day, Brian was destined to become an artist.  Beginning at age 8 he took up paint & brush as a passion.  During his senior year in high school, Brian won a full scholarship to the prestigious Philadelphia Museum School of Art.  After completing schooling and with time out for a stint in Europe, Brian became an Art Director the the Buzza-Cardozo division of Gibson Greeting Cards and later was appointed head director of The Newbury Guild in Boston.

Brian Day established his own publishing company in 1962, Metropolitan Artists, Inc. specializing in producing fine art Christmas cards and social stationery.  After many successful years publishing, in addition to his own works and the works of numerous fine artists - which included Charles Wysocki, Morten Solberg, Tyrus Wong (Famed "Bambi" illustrator - Disney), Rex Brandt, Joan Irving and Ralph Hulett among others, Brian divested himself of the company in the late 1970's to concentrate on more creative endeavors.  This new area included illustrating finely crafted designs of animals, birds and flowers for the fine art & collectible giftware industries.  In addition, through an agency, Brian produced illustrations used by the Audubon Society, National Wildlife, the Sierra Club, National Geographic Society and The United States Golf Association to name a few.
